Central Baptist College ran its softball winning streak to 22 games this weekend during a trip to Texas, defeating Texas Wesleyan, 11-2 and 4-1, and Northwood, 10-2, 2-1.

In the first game against Texas Wesleyan, Kayla Lucas was 4-for-4 with two RBI. Carly McLennan was 3-for-4 with four RBI, while Hailey King added three RBI. Jessica Bock struck out 11 and allowed three hits.

In the second game, Casey Hammons broke a school record with 17 strikeouts in a three-hitter. Lucas’ three-run home run in the sixth provided the winning runs.

In the first game against Northwood, Christen Kirchner had two home runs, seven RBI and her third grand slam of the season. Bock allowed three hits in the run-rule win.

In the top of the seventh in game two, CBC trailed 1-0 with two outs and Samantha Baker on 2nd base. Kirchner hit her third home run of the day to deep right field, which gave the Lady Mustangs the 2-1 lead.  Hammons allowed one run and four hits and struck out 16 Northwood hitters. She struck out 33 batters on the weekend and improved to 11-0 on the season.

The Lady Mustangs will host Hillsdale Freewill Baptist today in a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. at City of Colleges Park.
