LITTLE ROCK — The Conway Christian baseball team picked up a pair of wins Saturday afternoon at the Rumble at the Rock to improve to 8-0 on the season.

The Eagles started with a 12-2 win over Greers Ferry West Side. That game was called after five innings due to the run rule.

Lance Nail pitched all five frames to improve to 5-0 on the year. He yielded just two hits.

Ezra Wiley led at the plate with a 2-for-3 performance and drove in two RBI and scored twice. Nail scored three times, while Kirby Powell and Jackson Hogue all scored two runs each.

Conway Christian also defeated host Arkansas Baptist, taking a 5-3 decision.

Wiley (5-0) pitched all seven innings, striking out seven innings, while giving up two earned runs.

Hogue finished 2-for-3 and drove in a run. Jake Fitts scored twice and had two RBI, while Wiley also had two runs.

The Eagles will return to action at 4 p.m. Monday at Mountain Pine.

The March 18 game scheduled at Clinton has been canceled.
