Wesley Johnny Faulk, 103, of Conway passed away on Monday, Aug. 9, 2010.
He was born on Monday, Aug. 5, 1907, in Bono, to the late George Washington and Bennie Viola (Stell) Faulk.
Mr. Faulk owned and operated Faulk’s Grocery from 1948 until his retirement in 1976.
He then began working with his son at Battery Warehouse where he again retired in 2008 at the age of 101.
During World War II, he worked at Marche making ammunition.
He worked for several years at the State Hospital in Little Rock.
In his early twenties, he would catch a train for Kansas to work in the wheat fields.
He was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Forrest City.
He is survived by his son, Johnny Charles and LuAnn Faulk; daughter, Kathy (Faulk) and Carl Laughlin; three grandchildren, Tammy (Faulk) Wingfield, Kimberly (Faulk) Davis and Wes Laughlin; eight great-grandchildren, Laura Paige, Miranda, Chance, Ryleigh, Brandon, Robyn, Sara Kate and Luke; sister-in-law, Welthie (Wofford) Faulk; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Arkie (Wofford) Faulk; seven brothers; and three sisters.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway with visitation from noon-1 p.m. Burial will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City.
The family will receive friends after the graveside service in Forrest City at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 1107 S. Washington Street, Forrest City, 72335.
