LITTLE ROCK (AP) — The Arkansas unemployment rate for November rose by one-tenth of a percentage point, but that's less than the national unemployment rate climbed in the month.
The Arkansas Department of Workforce Services said Friday that the jobless rate reached 7.9 percent in November, up from 7.8 percent in October.
The national unemployment rate rose to 9.8 percent, up from 9.6 percent in October.
The department says that the Arkansas labor force grew during the month, with 6,400 people entering or re-entering the workforce.
Arkansas has 1.2 million people who are working and 106,500 who are unemployed.
