, the Log Cabin Democrat's online database of images from our own library and from the Faulkner County Historical Society and the University of Central Arkansas Archives is now online with thousands of images. Among the images are a Historical Society photo of the Vilonia blacksmith shop in 1900 and a Log Cabin file photo of Don Vogan, who served on the USS Skagit and wrote about about it.

Registered users will be able to comment on the existing photos, giving identifications of people or telling stories of the history or events depicted, and they will be able to upload their own photos.

"One of the neat things about these historic photos, I think, is that there may be a photo of an ancestor that someone hasn't seen in ages, but now it's there. For example, if a grandmother or grandfather graduated from Conway High in 1956, we may well have a class photo on the site. Of course, we would certainly like to return any of these photos to their rightful owner, should someone see a photo of a relative," said Publisher Rick Fahr.
