A Conway police officer was observing the flow of traffic on Favre Lane just west of South Donaghey Avenue when he heard "the loud pipes of what sounded like two vehicles racing."
The report stated that when the two vehicles approached his location, he could see that they were traveling side by side at a high rate of speed.
The officer clocked one of the vehicles at 62 miles per hour in a 30 miles per hour zone. The officer activated his emergency lights and the two vehicles pulled into the parking lot of Ellen Smith Elementary School.
The two drivers stated that they were not racing, but in the course of the traffic stop, they admitted to having been racing each other. Both drivers were cited with racing on a highway and speeding and released.
A passenger in one of the vehicles was arrested for having a confirmed warrant out of Conway.
