Hope everyone had a great 4th of July! We spent part of our time at Sugar Loaf Camping and relaxing. Now I have one of those summer colds, sinuses or something going on.  Feeling terrible but hopefully it will go away.

The Guy Peach Festival is going on this weekend. Please join the fun for good food, good music and good fellowship. Sounds great! Town of Guy, Small Town with a Big Heart!

As I am writing this and the time you read this Sandy should of had her procedure done with her heart last Thursday. And I hope that everything is fine.

Happy birthday to  my dear friend Dorothy Myers from Jacksonville she turned the big 60 last Sunday, July 8. Sorry Dorothy you are officially older than me until  November and then I will be right there with you. Wish you many more birthday’s to come.

Happy Birthday in two weeks to Rich Gronke, his  birthday is after his wife’s Kathy Dowdy Gronke birthday is which she shares with Sue Clay on the 26th.

Let me hear your input on the First Annual Peach Feast at Guy City Park. There will be several activities going on. Go to Guy Peach Feast online for more details. See you there or be square.

Lots of people are on vacation so let me hear from you so I can share where you have been and how much fun you and your family have been having. Send to holtb42@yahoo.com or call 679-3299. I can’t put it in there if I don’t know it.

Have a great week and remember to not drink and drive. Wasn’t the rain just great this pass week! Remember to pray for those that are sick been in the hospital and for the following Betty Griffith, Montene Tarkington, Frankeede Battles, Sandy Dowdy and Todd Watkins.

Don’t forget that next Friday, July 20, the 134th Annual Session of the Faulkner County Singing Convention will begin at LifeSong Baptist Church in Greenbrier. Singing will start at 7 p.m. on Friday. Then on Saturday, July 21st, it will begin at 10 a.m. with a break for a potluck lunch. Singing will resume after the potluck lunch at 1 p.m. Many from the Centerville Community have participated in this Convention over the years, and it was held at Centerville United Methodist Church last year. A little bit of interesting information is that the gym from Centerville School was moved to Greenbrier and is now part of the LifeSong Baptist Church. Convention members look for a great time at LifeSong Baptist, and they invite the public to attend.

God blessed us this week with a couple of good rains and cooler temperatures. We still need rain to lift our burn ban and take us out of the extreme drought conditions we have been enduring but the rain we have received is greatly appreciated. Be sure to continue to pray for more rain to come.

Ken and Sandy Bauder will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary today with a reception at McGintytown Church of God between 2-4 p.m. Ken and Sandy are the parents to Ken Bauder Jr. from Flower Mound, Texas, and Jimmy Bauder of Greenbrier.

Have a great week and be safe. Remember that officers have been told to write tickets to citizens burning trash while we are under a burn ban without issuing a warning. Please let me know if you have any information for the column by emailing jennfreeman@windstream.net.
