Jim Davidson, founder of the copyrighted Bookcase for Every Child project, has announced the appointment of Dr. Dennis Schick as publicist for the project. Dennis served for 25 years (1979-2004) as Executive Director of the Arkansas Press Association in Little Rock. Prior to that position, he taught advertising, journalism, and marketing for 16 years at Texas Christian University, Southern Illinois University, Oklahoma State University, and the University of Texas.

He and his wife of 53 years, Jan, are the parents of three adult children, and grandparents of four. They live in North Little Rock, where they are active members of the Lakewood United Methodist Church. In addition to his church, he has been involved in a number of "giving back" causes and he also has a passion for magic, as an Associate Editor of The Linking Ring, for the International Brotherhood of Magicians.

The mission of the Bookcase for Every Child project is to help the millions of young children in America without access to good books by providing a quality, personalized bookcase, along with a starter set of books, and by reading to children at local Head Start Centers and other programs with similar objectives. Additional information can be viewed on their website: www.bookcaseforeverychild.com

Some of Dr. Schick’s duties with this national project are: to develop and distribute news releases to media; to schedule the founder for interviews and speaking engagements in order to make the American public aware of the benefits of each community which develops a local project; and to solicit the help of fellow journalists and others to join the fight against illiteracy, using all resources possible to help bring America back to the leadership position in the world it has held over the years.

Currently there are 10 active Bookcase for Every Child projects in five states. For more information, go to www.bookcaseforeverychild.com.
