"And David said to Solomon, his son, Be strong and of good courage and do it. Fear not, nor be dismayed; for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord." 1 Chronicles 28:20
My God has never failed me, nor forsake me and I am so thankful to be a child of His. We have so many things in our life that turns out to be a disappointment or a failure. Not because of the Lord, but because we never took the time to pray and ask Him to lead us and guide us in the right way. We just did it with out the Lord. If we all would spend time in prayer with the Lord on a daily basis and put Him first in everything we say and do, our lives would be so much better. Don’t forget to pray for our country because it is needing lots of prayer and it also needs the Lord back where He belongs, at the center of our leaders. Our country was based on putting God first.
Foothills Faith Tabernacle Church had a great revival this past week with Pastor Butch Majors from Judsonia bringing us some great messages that all churches need to hear. Some people think going to church once a week is enough to get them through until next week. This is not so. If we are not getting the Word everyday we are not getting all we need.
"The son of a weather forecaster told his teacher, two and two are four, probably." Let’s remember to pray for rain, this drought is hurting us all.
It’s Vacation Bible School time again, and this year, Immanuel Baptist Church in Greenbrier has an awesome time planned for kids and adults alike! We hope your children will join us for "DYNAMOS….a VBS experience" on Tuesday-Friday, July 24-27, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at our church campus at 61 Green Valley Dr. in Greenbrier. If your children are in grades K – 6th (completed), we sure hope they can come experience the awesome power of God through this week of learning, games, songs and great fun! We are also very excited about our VBS closing program, which is being combined with our free Community Block Party on Saturday, July 28, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the IBC parking lot. Everyone in the community, VBS kids and families, and any friends are invited to come enjoy this day of fun filled with games, singing, a big water slide, and of course food! We’re excited about all the Lord is doing in our children’s ministry at Holland Baptist Church. We’re adding to our number each Wednesday night and Sunday morning. We had several attend Day Camp at Cold Springs. We are also thankful for our youth who attended but sorry one had to go home with an injury. Our workers have a heart for these children and share God’s love at every opportunity. Brother John Evans Jr. is helping us get reorganized so more people will have the blessing of serving and all the work won’t be just on a few. We’re looking forward to seeing all the Lord will do in this effort.
Our young adults are involved in a study of "The Doctrine of the God Head" lead by Brother John on Sunday mornings during the Sunday school hour. Any young adult would be welcomed into this group.
Among those remaining on our prayer list are: John and Sue Evans, Chrissy, Jim, and Ruth Johnston, John and Peggy Ray, Fred and Jana Purifoy, Margie and Ray Fulmer, Sunny Earnhart and family, and many others not named here.
We invite you to join us in the worship of our wonderful Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Sundays at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and for Wednesday night Bible study lead by Jim Johnston at 7 p.m. Children and youth meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
We would like to thank the community for their support at our recent Market Day event. This was our third annual summer fund-raiser, and it was another huge success. It was fun to greet old friends from across town or from right down the street, and it was nice to meet new people as well. Market Day is a very important fund-raiser for our church, and we appreciate the support of the community very much. Proceeds will again be applied to our Fellowship Hall building fund and will help a great deal in reducing what is owed. Our Vacation Bible School begins tomorrow and will run through Thursday. The times are from 5:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. and will be open to children 4 years through 12 years of age. This year’s theme will be "Babylon: Daniel’s Courage in Captivity," and the children of the community are welcome to attend.
We would also like to invite the community to join us for worship and meet our new pastor, the Rev. David Baker, and his wife, Lynn. They have served various churches around the state as well as some of our neighboring Methodist churches in Faulkner County, and it is a pleasure to have them join our congregation.
