VILONIA – Verizon Wireless, owner of the nation’s largest 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, has launched its 4G LTE network in the Vilonia area, enabling Verizon Wireless customers to take advantage of 4G LTE speeds across the region.

The company’s 4G LTE network is now available in these additional cities in Faulkner County:

• Acklin Gap

• Enola

• Holland

• Mount Vernon

• Romance

• Vilonia

In addition to introducing its 4G LTE network in Faulkner County, Verizon Wireless has turned on the network in Camden, El Dorado, Magnolia and Russellville areas. Nationally, the company’s 4G LTE network is available in more than 300 markets, serving more than two-thirds of the U.S. population.

With the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network, customers can enjoy the best wireless experience when they stream video, share music and photos, download files and surf the Web, with speeds up to 10 times faster than other wireless networks.

"The introduction of our 4G LTE network in Vilonia not only gives our customers in Faulkner County greater coverage, it also expands our 4G LTE network coverage continuously along U.S. Highway 64 between Conway and Beebe," said Leo Perreault, executive director of network for the South Central Region of Verizon Wireless. "This demonstrates our commitment to provide Arkansans in big cities and rural communities with the benefit of our incredibly fast 4G LTE network for their personal and business needs."

Posting an investment of $98 million in its wireless broadband and voice networks in Arkansas in 2011, Verizon Wireless will continue to expand its 4G LTE network across the state.

When customers travel outside of a 4G LTE coverage area, 4G LTE devices automatically connect to Verizon Wireless’ 3G network, enabling customers to stay connected from coast to coast. Verizon Wireless’ 3G network is the most reliable high-speed data network in the country and allows customers in 3G coverage areas who purchase 4G LTE devices today to take advantage of 4G LTE speeds when the faster network becomes available in their area, or when they travel to areas already covered by 4G LTE.
