The Faulkner County Library Summer Concert Series will continue at 2 p.m. Sunday with The Boomers — J. D. Hatfield, Joe Lombardi, Mike Schaefer, Conrad Shumaker and Sara Shumaker — originally came together 14 years ago out of a shared love of performing traditional folk music and the songs of writers such as Bob Dylan, Ian Tyson, Tom Paxton, Gordon Lightfoot, Jesse Winchester and Greg Brown.

Today they play a large catalogue of original material as well, dealing with lost and found love, the links between mortality and spirituality, and the frequent strangeness of everyday life. Their instrumental accompaniment consists of six- and 12-string guitars, banjos, mandolins, upright bass, harmonicas, and pennywhistles. Their most recent CD, Seasons, features provocative original songs, driving fiddle tunes, and a few choice compositions by writers from outside the band.
