Our community is in need of some prayers this week. Alene Asbell fell Tuesday evening in her home and broke her hip. She had surgery on Wednesday at Conway Regional and the doctors said the surgery was a success. She has always been such a trooper and I pray she heals quickly and has no complications. Another prayer need for our community is for baby Nolen Wayne Cardin, son of Austin Cardin and Megan Traffanstedt. Austin is the son on Michael Cardin and Tina Nokes. Baby Nolen was born premature and had to be taken to Children’s Hospital when doctors discovered bleeding from the brain. I saw a video and Baby Nolen was precious and seemed very alert so be sure to keep the little guy in your prayers, as well as the family.
Josh and Mandi Dunlap celebrated their tenth anniversary recently with a trip to St. Thomas and St. John. The pictures were breathtaking and it appeared that St. Thomas and St. John have received a little more rainfall than what we have seen here in Arkansas. They posed by the Sugar Plantation Ruins and the highest point at St. John’s Island and the waterfall at St. Thomas and the pictures of the islands were beautiful.
The youth of Centerville United Methodist Church left Sunday after church and spent the week at Jonesboro for the Ozark Mission Project. They returned Thursday afternoon with lots of stories and experiences and I am thankful that Rick and Lana encouraged them to go. Dylan Freeman, Colton Ray, Joseph Shaw, and Zane Golden represented our church and they spent their days working to help the community and their evenings in worship and just hanging out with new friends. Having never been away from Dylan for more than one night, I assumed he was missing us as badly as we were missing him. He called home and told us that he was having a good time and didn’t miss being at home very much, just a little bit. I missed him much more than just a little bit and was thankful when he came home.
Have a great week and be sure to pray for Ms. Alene and for baby Nolen Cardin.
