Judith Killen returns to the Faulkner County Library with "Chapter Two" of her successful grant writing workshop from 5 to 9 p.m. on Aug. 6.

Currently an independent consultant in Business Communications and Proposal Development, Judith Killen has 25 years of experience in business communications and proposal development. She is also an effective trainer-having delivered workshops and courses in business writing, writing for publication and grant writing in the US and more than 30 countries worldwide for local and international non-profit organizations, US universities, international research institutes and US and European government agencies.

She has served as lead writer or team leader for more than 300 proposals to private and corporate foundations, international development banks, European government agencies and nearly every US Federal funding agency. The win rate for proposals she works on has exceeded 95 percent, and the dollar value ranges from a few thousand dollars to more than $175 million. Previous positions include serving as Program Development Officer at Winrock International, Director of Program Development at the University of Missouri Kansas City where she also taught in the English Department, Director of New Business Development at Pact Inc. (Washington, D.C.), and Head, Resource Mobilization Unit, The World Agroforestry Center, Nairobi, Kenya.
