Zeb Golden and Chris Barnum had a wedding shower last Sunday at Centerville United Methodist Church. Zeb and Chris will be getting married next Saturday, Sept. 22, with an outdoor wedding and reception at the home of Harvey and Shellie Sission on Blackfork Road.

What a wonderful day, I enjoyed last Sunday. We attended church, and then hosted the Club Singing in the afternoon.

I wish to take this opportunity to thank each one of you who came to the singing and made it so great. We had a large crowd. Each one of you are special, and I wish I had been able to have met all of you personally. It was so good to have our State Representative Linda Tyler back with us again. All of you are welcome any time at Oakland United Methodist Church.

Our cousins, Von and Violet Lee of Vilonia, visited us one afternoon last week. They are special people and we love their visits. Von is my first cousin.

Hershal and Martha Tennyson of Conway, visited Bobi Hendrickson a while last Saturday. She enjoyed their visit so much.

Charles Earnhart of Mayflower, visited his sisters, Marian McGinty and Sunny Earnhart, Monday. He had lunch with them and mowed their yard.

Tennyson Barnett stayed with her grandmother, Marsha Brown, on Saturday and also that night, while her parents attended the Razorback football game, and has gone to church with Marsha the last two Sundays.

Jim and Donna Willis of Mayflower visited Rosa Lee and Robert Mcelroy one day last week.

Curtis and Jan Smith of Little Rock celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last Sunday at their home church in Little Rock, hosted by their children, Mitzi Moore and Shawn Smith and families. Jan was raised in this community, and she is a first cousin of Ray’s and his sister, Betty Applegate, of Holland.

We thanked God for the wonderful rain we’ve been having. Everything has gotten green again. People have started mowing their yards again. The cooler weather has helped too. And one of these days it will come a big frost.

Have a good week, and ask for God’s available grace for whatever challenge we face.

Several in our community celebrated birthdays this past week. Sherry McPherson, Aimee Glover, Thomn Battles. Joshua Whitley, who lives in Conway, Ethan Hall in Conway. At the beginning of the month on Sept. 5 Johnny Pooh Clay from Gravesville. And two beautiful little girls were born on this past Thursday, Allie Dawn and Emma Jade to the Wilson Family. This writing was done on Wednesday night so more to come next week.

Many in our community are sick too. Please keep the following in your prayers, Frankee Battles, Montine Tarkington, Darrell Bearden, Betty Griffith, daughter of Jannean Dejarnett Crouch, Charlie Alexandar, Brandon Clendenin. I know there are more so please email or call me. My answering machine got hit by the storm so it doesn’t work and you can call my mom after 6 p.m. through the week since I am there.

Loving this weather, so nice. Have actually walked a couple of evenings this week.

Remember to send news to or message me on facebook. I can’t put it in if you don’t let me know. Have a great weekend and be safe.
