Members of the T.E.L. class of the First Baptist Sunday school entertained with a party Friday evening at the home of Mrs. R.F. Adams on Lavinia Avenue, in honor of Mrs. Fannie Goodbar, a member, who is leaving soon to make her home in Russellville. After the social period cake and chocolate were served and the class presented a beautiful gift to Mrs. Goodbar.

Danny Ramsey has been elected president of the Vilonia Future Farmers of America Chapter for the second consecutive year.

Other officers include Charles Mize, vice president; Billy Joe Harrod, secretary; Jerry Woodward, reporter; Roger Spruiell, treasurer; Eddie Sellers, sentinel; Jimmie Simmons Jr., adviser; and Gene Lewis, parliamentarian.

The chapter recently received the standard award plaque. The plaque was in recognition of last year’s program.

Jackie May, daughter of Jack and Mary May of Greenbrier, recently was named to the All-Region Choir, following auditions at Conway High School. She performed three songs and was rated by three judges. Miss May, who also qualified to compete for a spot in the All-State Choir, will participate in All-Region Choir on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 8-9, at Southside High school in Fort Smith.

Roy Martin and Rusty Page showed off a few of the turkeys cooking on Wednesday afternoon to be donated. This year the pair will cook approximately 800 pounds of turkey for HAVEN, Bethlehem House, the Women’s Shelter, My House, the Conway Fire Department, the Conway Police Department and Bob Blankenship’s public thanksgiving dinner.
