Wednesday is the final day to be included in the Community Christmas Card to Faulkner County students.

The card, a special section printed in the Dec. 25, Christmas Day edition of the Log Cabin Democrat, bears the names of community members who have provided funds for students in immediate need.

Needs have often been winter clothing, new glasses, medical and dental visits, school supplies and hygiene items.

Local educators report using the fund to send snacks home over the weekend when students complain of hunger.

This year’s effort has raised $11,900, organizers said Monday. Names to be included are around 2,500.

There’s still time, with the donation of at least $1, to be included in this year’s card.

Many donations have been made in honor of loved ones, and more have donated without being recognized.

Names and donations for the Community Christmas Card will be taken at the Log Cabin Democrat office at 1111 Main St., Suite 102 in Federal Plaza in Conway.

To donate by mail, send names and donations to Community Christmas Card, P.O. Box 969, Conway, AR 72033.
