Frank E. Robins, editor of the Log Cabin Democrat, at today’s weekly luncheon of the Conway Rotary Club, described a trip through Florida which Mrs. Robins and he recently made. Mr. Robins said Florida, while similar to Arkansas in area, population, per capita wealth and value of its agricultural products, had the advantage of approximately 1,750,000 tourists spending $600,000,000 annually within its borders.

State Sen. Graham T. Nixon of Conway will serve on five committees during the 1963 session of the Legislature.

Nixon will be chairman of the committee of public health and practice of medicine; temperance.

He will be a member of the important apportionment, education, federal relations and revenue and taxation committees.

The Legislature convened today.

Rep. W.H. Sanson of Faulkner County will serve on the House’s education and agriculture committees.

Bryant Otto, 12, of Conway enjoyed a speedy sled tide yesterday down South Boulevard courtesy of Sport, his English Setter. Bryant, a son of William and Pat Otto, said that he came up with the idea of Sport pulling him down the snow-packed lane and that the dog, requiring no training, simply picked it right up. Mrs. Otto said Sport has not shown a lot of promise as a hunter and that "this trick seems to have proven his worth."

Lt. Bob Berry presented Jean Carolina with a certificate honoring her efforts at the Community Oriented Policing recognition luncheon on Saturday. The event was held to honor community members who had helped the Conway Police Department better serve the community.
