The College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats, nationally ranked in the NAIA, defeated Central Baptist College, 74-53, Wednesday night in women’s college basketball at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse.

Leading scorer for the Lady Mustangs was Alyssa Drake with 21 points. Katie Bradway led the team with three steals. Abbi Stearns added nine rebounds.

College of the Ozarks, from Point Lookout, Mo., won the men’s game, 83-70.

Blake Hanney and Xavier Huskey scored 20 points each for the Mustangs. Carl Corman led the team with six rebounds. Blake Hanney and Xavier Lindsey added three steals. Lindsey added nine assists.

CBC teams travel to Kansas this weekend for games against Haskell Indian National University and Central Christian College.


FOUNTAIN LAKE — Fountain Lake defeated Mayflower, 34-29, Wednesday night in junior high girls basketball.

Tori Lasker had 10 points for the Lady Eagles. Ali York had six points. Marissa

Harper scored five points.


The Faulkner County Falcons homeschool team defeated Christian Ministries Academy, 43-29, Wednesday night in high school basketball.

Carter Mayo topped the Falcons scoring with 14 points. Trent Wolf added 10 points and led the Falcons with 11 rebounds. Hadan Phillips added seven points and Colton Ferrell and Grant Ragland with had five each. Daniel McNair had two. Ragland added five assists.

The Falcons travel to Mountain Home this weekend for tournament play.


Vilonia’s seventh-grade girls defeated Bob Courtway in two basketball games Wednesday night.

The Lady Eagles won the A game, 36-15. Aaliyah Cash, Alexis Burnham, and Brynn Schuetter led the scoring for Vilonia with six points each. Tori Wilbanks, Anna Kaye Kirk, and  Kaitlyn Weaver scored four points each.  Alyssa Netherlain and Kenna Beaty added three each. Ally Swaim scored two points. The leading scorer for Bob Courtway was Harper (no first name available) with 11 points.

Vilonia won the B game, 28-3. Ashlyn Koonce was the leading scorer for Vilonia with six points. Hannah Millsap and Ally Swaim added four each. Brynn Schuetter, Ashlee Andrews, Talyn Lawrence, Alayna Belote, Beth Franks, Courtney Kennedy, and Sydney Weaver scored two points each.
