Miss Nanette Stewart of Conway has been elected to the Faculty of Heber Springs High School to succeed Mrs. Alice Blevins-Andrews, who resigned, according to an announcement made yesterday by school officials.

Miss Stewart is a graduate of Arkansas State Teachers College. She began her new duties this week.

Wilburn F. Carter of Conway was elected head consul of the Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society in Arkansas last night at a meeting at Hotel Sam Peck in Little Rock.

Carter had formerly held the position of head adviser to the head consul.

He has been secretary of the Conway WOW camp for about 10 years.

He will represent the Arkansas chapter at the national convention.

Three-year-old Rebecca Cagle, daughter of John and Mary Jane Cagle of Conway, got a treat after having her picture taken with the Easter bunny yesterday at Kiddieville Christian Day Care Center. Children at the center had the opportunity to be photographed with the Easter bunny who made an early appearance.

Eight Conway High School-West students have been named finalists in the 2003 National Merit Scholarship competition.

The students, who are among 15,000 semifinalists, are Drew Bell, Terena Coon, Leslie Crain, Blake Edwards, Rose Lott, Keisha Mattox, Brandon Nelson and Justin Woods.
