CCS gets forfeit victory

Cedarville High School has forfeited three football games this season because its played an ineligible player.

Cedarville of Class 3A defeated CCS of Class 2A, 26-21, earlier in the season.

The forfeit ups CCS’ record to 3-3.

UCA plans alumni softball game

As part of homecoming this year, the University of Central Arkansas softball team will have an alumni game on Oct. 26.

The game will be held at 9 a.m. with a UCA softball alumni tailgate following at noon, prior to the Bears’ homecoming football game against Stephen F. Austin at 3 p.m.

Upward registration has begun

Registration has begun, and will continue until Friday, Nov, 1, for Upward Basketball and Cheerleading.

The programs for boys and girls in grades 1-6, which stress sportsmanship and character building, will have orientation sessions Nov. 3 and Nov. 5 at Antioch Baptist Church’s Activity Center. Each player is required to attend an evaluation sessions to participate.
