1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 reads:
Brothers and sisters, we want you to know about those Christians who have died so you will not be sad, as others who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and that He rose again. So, through Him, God will raise with Jesus those who have died. What we tell you now is the Lord’s own message. We who are living when the Lord comes again will not go before those who have already died. The Lord Himself will come down from Heaven with a loud command (or shout), with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And those who have died believing in Christ will rise first (1 Corinthians 15:51-57). After that, we who are still alive will be gathered up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And we will be with the Lord forever. So encourage each other with these words.
Every time I read 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 I get happy and joyful. These six verses encourage me in the Lord. These six verses also let me know that Jesus someday is going to call all the Christians home one day and what a day that is going to be! I can just see those who have died in Christ get up out of the grave and go up first to be with the Lord and then the Christians who are still alive will follow after them. I just believe when all the Christians leave this earth then those who never trusted Jesus as their Lord and Savior will be standing looking and wondering what’s going on. I don’t know when Jesus is going to call us home to be with Him in the sky but there is one thing we as Christians do know is it’s going to happen one day. I can see it now, millions all over the world disappearing off the face of the earth. Some will disappear off their workplace, some will disappear out of their cars, from their homes, from their vacation, and there will even be some flying in the airplanes or they could even be flying the plane! One thing I do know, where ever they are they are going to drop what they are doing and go be with the Lord.
Let me let you in on something, when Jesus calls the Christians home it doesn’t matter where they are at or what they are doing, Christians all over the world are going to check out of this old world and report to be with the Lord forever and ever. I know some of you reading this think I’m drunk and talking out of my head but that’s OK, you don’t have to believe me. Read the Bible for yourself. You don’t have to take my word.
My fellow Christian brothers and sisters, don’t give up. Don’t let the devil trick you into coming back to his side, just hold on to God’s unchanging hand because this world as you see it now won’t be anymore. A change is going to come. He will come back for the Christians (the believers) and that’s you and me. Are you going to be a part of this call home? I beg you, don’t miss out when Jesus comes back for His people. Question: are you one of His? If not, ask Him to come into your heart. Let Jesus know that you need Him to save you. Tell Him that you are a sinner and you need to be saved. Let Him know only He can save you. Now ask Him to save you! Make Him the Lord of your life today! In Jesus name, AMEN.
In closing, I thank God for surrounding me with people down here on earth who love Him so much. I just want to give a shout out to my Pastor Frank Stewart and First Lady Jacqueline Stewart, at Agape Community Temple of Servants (ACTS), Sis. Phyllis Washington, Bro. Tyrone Sanders, Sis. Joyce Dobbins who are all writers with me for Christ. I thank God for a very special friend Bradley Edwards, who is a greeter for Walmart on Dave Ward Drive. I love to hear him tell people, and I quote: "I’m fired up for Jesus!"
Until next time, may God bless and keep you. In Jesus’ name we pray, AMEN.
