LAKE CHARLES, La. — The University of Central Arkansas Sugar Bears began a southeastern road trip Thursday with a 25-22, 25-21, 25-20 victory over McNeese State in women’s volleyball.
Central Arkansas (16-3, 8-0 SLC) was led offensively by Kyle Hartman and Alicia Dittrich, who each collected a match-high 12 kills. Heather Schnars added 10 kills, while Paige Gantar chipped in nine kills for the Sugar Bears, who hit .336 on the night. Marissa Collins picked up a double-double, dishing out 48 assists and digging 12 balls, while Shelbee Berringer dug up 19 attacks.
Central Arkansas returns to action on Saturday against Nicholls State at Thibodaux, La.
Conway’s volleyball team took a tight, 25-18, 23-25, 25-23, 28-26 victory over Greenwood on Thursday night.
Allison Weatherly had 10 kills and Courtney Campbell eight for the Lady Cats. Sara Nethercutt had 45 assists and Rachel Skinner 30 digs. Campbell added six blocks and Sydney Trickett two aces.
Conway won the JV game, 25-8, 13-25, 15-10.
Chloe Brinkley had six kills and two blocks. Morgan Mourot had 15 assists and eight digs. Trickett, Mackenzie Dear and Jacklyn Quinit had five digs apiece.
HENDRIX FIELD HOCKEY
ST. CHARLES, Mo. — NCAA Division II Bellarmine routed the Hendrix field hockey team, 14-1, Friday.
The Hendrix College field hockey team lost to NCAA Division II team Bellarmine University 14-1 at Hunter Stadium on The Knights (6-6) outshot the Warriors (0-10) 48-4 and 35-2 on goal.
Rachael McAllister recorded a hat trick and Alex Ojeda had two goals and two assists for BU. Rachael Waltz added two goals and an assist and Meghan Williams had two assists.
Hendrix will face Denison University, a DIII school, in their final day in St. Charles, Mo. on Saturday.
