The Christian Car Club of Conway recently presented a check for $1,000 to Jenny Morse-Quick, Executive Director of HAVEN (Help for Abuse Victims in Emergency Need) of Conway. HAVEN is a residential shelter providing hope and stability for residents, ages 6 through 18.

The gift is a result of proceeds raised during the 2nd annual Cars at The Village Car Show at The Village at Hendrix in Conway. The afternoon car and motorcycle show and showing of the movie "Madagascar" by the Conway Parks Department’s Silver Moon Cinema raised funds for HAVEN through donations and entry fees.

The Cars at The Village event in April, and the October Trunk or Treat and Family Night are designed to assist programs in Faulkner County that benefit children in need. These events are possible due to the hard work of volunteers from the Christian Car Club of Conway as well as the staff of The Village at Hendrix, and with financial support from Crain Buick GMC in Conway and other sponsors who contribute giveaways and door prizes for entrants and participants.

The third annual Trunk or Treat event and Silver Moon Cinema Presentation for a Cause is scheduled for Saturday afternoon, Oct. 26, at The Village.

Those taking part in the presentation included Bill Burns, Larry Jones, Cheryl Dunson of The Village, Patsy Desaulniers, Jenny Morse-Quick of HAVEN, Michael Biggs, and Tom Desaulniers. For more information and ways to help, email HAVEN at: haven@caiinc.org.
