The city of Conway has not received a reply to its offer to purchase the Missouri Pacific Railroad Co.’s depot in Conway, according to Mayor Walter Dunaway. The city’s offer was forwarded to St. Louis, Mo., several weeks ago. Dunaway didn’t reveal the amount of the offer. It has been suggested, should the city acquire the property, that it be converted into a city hall with space for a second fire station and possibly small jail facilities. The railroad has plans under way for a new freight depot on the west side of the tracks. The Conway station was built about 1912.
