G.W. Williams, operator of the Meadowbrook Dairy, has purchased from the Argenta Building & Loan Association of North Little Rock an old residence on Caldwell Street just west of the national guard armory. Mr. Williams is having the house torn down and will use the lumber to construct a dairy barn on his place west of Conway.

Phil Dayer hit three jump shots in the final 55 seconds, the last with 0:04 showing, to give the St. Joseph Pups a 34-33 victory over Quitman Friday night in the junior invitational tournament at Guy.

Dayer, who got 17 of his 19 points after halftime, banged in the winning points. The Pups play Guy at 8 o’clock tonight in the finals.

Bethany Gibson, 3, and Candy Youngblood, 4, enjoyed a piece of birthday cake during a party yesterday celebrating the first anniversary of The Gingerbread House, a day care facility. Director Debbie Williams said the children and teachers discussed the anniversary, comparing it with a birthday party. Bethany is a daughter of Lori Gibson and David Gibson and Candy is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Youngblood.

Chad Saunders of Greenbrier recently won $1,000 in the Fifth Annual Holt’s Timed Event held at the Mid State Arena in Damascus. Jacob Reynolds of Greenbrier finished in second place and Chad Harper finished third. Reynolds won the heeling event while Harper won the heading event. Lori Thone of Damascus won the barrel racing event and Jay Tapley of Greenbrier won the calf roping.
