Seven entries in the Chili Cook-off Contest competed just before the Greenbrier Christmas Parade. Judges Carol Putnam and Claire Welch tasted to determine winners in the Traditional Chili and the Wild Game Chili categories. Jo Ann McMillen of Greenbrier placed first in the Traditional category with chili that was only slightly sweet and with just a touch of heat — not so much that it blew your head off. First place in the Wild Game category was Jody Havens of Greenbrier with her chili made from elk meat. The public was allowed to eat as much as they wanted for a small donation to the Greenbrier Lions Club, sponsors of this fun event. Julia-Ann Leonard took second place in the Wild Game Division and James Linn of Choctaw took second in the Traditional Division. Martha McMillan placed third with a Traditional chili.
