The Faulkner County Quorum Court will hear from Mayflower resident Dwayne Dycus regarding a cease-and-desist order the county issued to him during its regular meeting Tuesday.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in Courtroom A of the Faulkner County Courthouse.
County Attorney David Hogue told the quorum court during its February meeting that Judge Jim Baker had issued the cease-and-desist order on Jan. 15 and it required Dycus to immediately stop construction on a pole barn at 20 Center Road in Mayflower.
Hogue explained Dycus was in violation of an ordinance regulating construction in flood-prone areas, a discovery Office of Emergency Management (OEM) Director Shelia Bellott made when inspecting damages made from recent floods.
Dycus will appeal to quorum court for a variance on the ordinance.
Also, Tuesday the Budget and Finance Committee will meet at 6 p.m. in Courtroom A to discuss the possible purchase of the Coroner’s Office location.
Both meetings are open to the public.
