On April 4, 1996, the groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Mayflower Library. Since opening in 1996 the Library has increased its circulation by 87 percent, maintained 76 percent more visitors annually and has moved into the world of ‘Wi-Fi’ and all that comes with technology, according to information from the Faulkner County Library system.
"Mayflower has experienced man-made and natural disasters over the years, but it is time to Celebrate and we are ready to Celebrate," said Nancy Allen, adult services and reference librarian for the Faulkner County Library.
Beginning in April, a monthly drawing for a gift provided by local businesses and the library will take place through September, culminating in a ‘Birthday Bash’ on Friday, October 14.
"Each month we will highlight changes that have occurred from then (1996), and Now (2016)," Allen said.
