Mayflower United Methodist Women announce their Spring Bazaar, Bake and Craft Sale on April 2 in the church fellowship hall from 7 a.m. to noon.

Traditional homemade fried pies, cooked in peanut oil, will sell for $1 each and include several fruit flavors from apple, apricot, blueberry, cherry and peach and chocolate.

Home preserved jams, jellies and pickles will be for sale alongside quick breads, cookies, cakes and rolls.

"Our members have been busily hand-crafting items for sale to brighten your home and garden and accessorize your wardrobe," said spokesperson Valerie Hohenberger. "We will also have housewares and some furniture. We even have a marble sink valued at over $200 to the first taker!"

One member crafted a full-size quilt with several Bible verses, pieced blocks and flying geese.

"The warm colors will compliment most any décor," Hohenberger said.

The quilt may be viewed at Linda’s Grocery in Mayflower until the day before the sale. The quilt chances are just $1 per chance, no need to be present to win.

All proceeds from the sale are used in the Mayflower community for mission work for women, youth and children.
