Circuit Judge Charles "Ed" Clawson Jr. set an April 18 pretrial for a 52-year-old man charged with homicide.

Clawson said he expects to start looking for trial dates in the case against Richard Eric Williford on April 18.

Defense Attorney Barry Keith Faulkner said the defense has obtained Williford’s necessary medical documents via his appointed health care proxy.

Williford’s sister, Mary Green, was appointed as his health care proxy after Faulkner informed the court Williford was not receiving proper health care while in jail.

Any health care provider who has treated Williford is ordered to discuss his condition with Green and release any documents upon her request so that she may provide them to the defense.

The Log Cabin Democrat incorrectly reported on March 10 that Williford would be released to Green on medical release to undergo surgery.

The order states that as health care proxy, "Any health care provider who has treated Richard E. Williford is ordered to discuss his medical condition, and upon request by her, release all records associated therewith to Mary Green … Green is ordered to provide all information to counsel for the Defendant and to testify in Court if called upon to do so."

Willifrod is currently being held in the county jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond on suspicion of first-degree murder and first-degree battery. He is accused of killing Bradley Stinson, 52, and severely injuring Paul Taylor, 40, at a residence on Mount Gale Road in Conway.

He is set to appear next in Faulkner County Circuit Court at 9 a.m. April 18.
