Noted philosopher of religion Jeffrey W. Robbins will give a talk on at 7 p.m. April 11 in the University of Central Arkansas College of Business Auditorium.

The lecture, titled "A Rhapsody of Independence: On Race, Repetition and America," will consist of a multimedia presentation focusing on themes of race, religion and the music of Louis Armstrong.

Robbins is professor and chair of the department of religion and philosophy at Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania. He is the author or editor of a number of books, including "Political Theology and Radical Democracy" and a forthcoming book called "Radical Theology: A Vision for Change."

"Dr. Robbins is one of the leading scholars of contemporary philosophy of religion and radical theology," Clayton Crockett, professor of religious studies at UCA, said.

This lecture is free and open to the public, and it is co-sponsored by the Schedler Honors College, the department of philosophy and religion, and the Norbert and Carol Schedler Endowment at UCA.
