Chad and Erica Russell will be named honorary chairpersons of the 59th Annual United Way Campaign at the United Way Campaign CEO Luncheon on Thursday at Centennial Valley Country Club Event Center.
Over the past decade, needs for United Way services have increased to more than $1 million in Faulkner and Perry counties.
United Way of Central Arkansas’ goal is to add donors to meet that need. United Way donations support 35 programs in 20 member agencies.
These programs focus their efforts to provide sustainable impact on education, income or health, the building blocks for a good life, United Way of Central Arkansas Executive Director Maret Cahill Wicks said.
Erica, a first-grade teacher at Marguerite Vann Elementary, and Chad, the Conway Market President for Bear State Bank, have called Conway their home for more than 15 years. They met at a Razorback football game in 2004 and just celebrated 10 years of marriage. They have a 5-year-old daughter, Henleigh.
The couple said they are both proud alumni of the University of Central Arkansas and are active members of Second Baptist Church. They said they love to live and serve in this great city.
"We are excited to serve as honorary chairpersons for this year’s campaign," Chad said. "United Way tackles the real needs that face our community. They recruit the people and organizations to transform lives and make Conway and even better place to live."
Erica said she embraces the United Way motto.
"When we support United Way, we continue building a community that cares about people. Let’s Live Here, Give Here, Live United," she said.
Chad said: "Conway is a great place to live, work and raise a family. When we give and volunteer with United Way, we are part of making this a great community that cares about its residents. Additionally, we can show our daughter, Henleigh, the importance of giving back to our fellow residents and that makes us proud."
United Way of Central Arkansas’ campaign goal this year is $575,000.00.
