Free popcorn Friday

Cinemark Holdings, Inc., announced plans to reward current and new members of their loyalty program, Cinemark Connections, with a free medium popcorn in all theatres across the United States on Friday, Sept. 30. The offer is a free benefit and requires no redemption of customer’s points. Moviegoers who are not already members can easily download the Cinemark app and join the Cinemark Connections loyalty program within a few minutes.

‘Hamilton’s America’

The Arkansas Educational Television Network has partnered with the Hendrix College Department of Theatre Arts and Dance to host a free advance screening of "Hamilton’s America" Sunday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m.

The screening, which is free and open to the public, will be held in Mills A of the Mills Social Sciences Center, located along Washington Avenue on the Hendrix campus in Conway. Following the screening will be an interdisciplinary discussion titled "(Re)Presenting History: Hamilton’s America" about the documentary, the musical and related themes.

4th annual ArtWalk

Downtown Conway’s fourth annual Night ArtWalk is set to take place Oct. 28 and Nov. 25 from 5-8 p.m. each evening.

FCCLA benefit pageant

The Mayflower Family, Career, Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is celebrating the anniversary of their annual Halloween Pageant. In doing so, they are hosting their third benefit pageant this October. Last year, students utilized leadership skills and creativity to host event. MHS students organized, advertised and carried out the pageant for girls 0-18 years old. The pageant brought the community together to showcase beautiful young women as their personalities shine on stage.

The purpose of it is to raise funds for the Mayflower High School FCCLA chapter attend leadership conferences and competitive events. Members of the organization not only gain leadership skills from these volunteered events but also develop life long skills that will help them prosper in the future.

Dazzle Daze: Nov. 17-19

The Conway Regional Women’s Council hosts the 15th annual Dazzle Daze Nov. 17-19 at the Conway Expo Center.

During the past 14 years, Dazzle Daze has raised more than $580,000 to purchase medical equipment and services and in support of such areas as surgery, oncology, women’s services, the emergency department, mammography for underserved women, and academic health care scholarships.

More than 80 merchants from several states are expected for the event.

Dazzle Daze will begin with "Girls’ Nite Out," a rollicking pre-shopping event, on Thursday, Nov. 17, 6-9 pm. General Shopping will be held Friday, Nov. 18, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 19, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All Dazzle Daze events will be held at the Conway Expo Center located at 2505 E. Oak St./Hwy 64E. Tickets are $7.50 for general shopping and $30 in advance and $35 at the door for Girls’ Nite Out. The Dazzle Daze event includes a raffle for a red 2016 Ford Mustang convertible, a guided duck hunting trip, a Polaris Outlaw 110 ATV, a Traeger wood-fired grill or a $1,000 gift certificate to Cajun Brothers Furniture.
