Penny McClung has announced her candidacy for Faulkner County Clerk.

"I believe the citizens of Faulkner County deserve an experienced leader they can trust. My record is proven. I have worked my entire career in an honest, transparent manner for the best interest of the citizens," McClung said.

McClung has spent almost 30 years working in county government, in various capacities, including serving as Chief Deputy County Clerk and Chief Deputy Treasurer. She currently serves as Deputy Circuit Clerk.

"I understand the steps we need to take to make the County Clerk’s office modern, efficient, and trusted again. Citizens deserve to know their elected officials are working in their best interest and with the highest degree of integrity," McClung said.

McClung is a lifelong resident of Faulkner County and lives in the Barney Community with her husband of over 20 years, Kim McClung. She is a graduate of Enola High School and Pulaski Technical College, from which she received honors.

McClung faces Margaret Darter in the general election Nov. 8.
