Tyler Lachowsky has announced his candidacy for Faulkner County Justice of the Peace, District 6.
Lachowsky is running on the Republican ticket.
“I’m a fiscal conservative with experience working for Faulkner County," he said in a statement. "I want to put both my experience and a new perspective to work for the people of District 6. As citizens we entrust our tax dollars to the county, and the Quorum Court must ensure the county acts responsibly with our money.”
Lachowsky has 10 years of experience in emergency response and preparedness and currently serves as the Emergency Management Coordinator for the University of Central Arkansas. He is married and is a father of three. Lachowsky is a graduate of St. Joseph High School, has served as a volunteer firefighter for the Highway 286 East Fire Department, is a scout leader with Cub Scout Pack 78, and is a member of the Knights of Columbus.
“Faulkner County is a great place to raise a family, and I want to work to ensure it remains that way," he said. "The Lachowsky family has been in Faulkner County for more than 140 years; I am committed to this community.”
Lachowsky graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management. He worked for the Faulkner County Office of Emergency Management where he coordinated county efforts in disaster response and preparedness and served as the County Fire Services Coordinator.
“In my time working for the county I found that a lot of problems can be solved by just having a conversation, opening up those lines of communication, and creating positive relationships," he said. "In emergency management we stress communication, coordination, and cooperation. It’s amazing the amount of problems that are solved by doing just that, and that experience is what I intend on bringing to the Quorum Court.”
Early voting for the Republican Primary begins May 7 and Election Day is May 22.
