Faulkner County Treasurer Scott Sanson has announced his intent to seek re-election for the office of County Treasurer in 2018.

Treasurer Sanson was first elected in November of 2014 and took office in January of 2015.

Prior to being elected in 2014, Treasurer Sanson was the Fiscal Director for the Arkansas Commissioner of State Lands office, where he had been on staff since 2003.

Treasurer Sanson said that he is running for re-election of County Treasurer because he “wants to continue the progress our office has made over these last three years and to continue working hard for the citizens of Faulkner County.”

As Treasurer, Sanson has implemented direct deposit for county employees and electronic payment to schools, cities, fire districts and improvement districts.

He is currently implementing the placement of county reports on the county website.

He is on the board of Arkansas County Treasurers Association and Kiwanis.

His experience includes budgeting and forecasting, governmental accounting, management, banking and legislative audit.

"I plan to maintain the office’s accountability and transparency as well as be a fiscally conservative steward for the county,” Sanson said.

Sanson received his Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Central Arkansas in 2000 after graduating Vilonia High School in 1994.

He currently resides in Vilonia with his wife Autumn and their three children, Ridge, Jett and Sage.
