A 5-year-old girl died after being struck by an 18-wheeler in Vilonia last week.
According to an Arkansas State Police report, the crash occurred along Highway 64 by Cattle Creek Trail shortly after 6:30 p.m. May 4.
Authorities say the child ran into the road and was hit by the tractor-trailer. The child's mother, Amber Duggan, 26, of Vilonia was also injured in the crash.
Duggan ran after her daughter and was hit by the 2016 Peterbilt truck as well, according to the report. She was taken to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock for treatment of injuries she sustained in the crash.
Faulkner County Coroner Jessica Thorn said 5-year-old Britnee Duggan was pronounced dead at the scene Friday.
Authorities did not report any injuries to the driver of the tractor-trailer following the evening crash.
Weather conditions were described as cloudy and authorities said the roads were wet at the time of the crash.
An investigation into the crash remains "active and on-going," ASP spokesman Bill Sadler said Thursday.
There have been at least 138 fatalities on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary data.
