The Community Action Program for Central Arkansas (CAPCA) will give food to families in need from 8:15-11:30 a.m. May 24.
“Commodities will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis,” CAPCA officials said. “Each household will receive one to three of each item as supplies last.”
Distribution will be in the administration office at 707 Robins St. Ste. 118 in Conway.
The items range from canned fruits, vegetables, soups and meat to dry goods such as pasta and cereal to frozen fish and turkey.
Eligible participants must bring a photo ID and declaration of income.
“If you are picking up for someone, you must have a signed and dated statement from that person giving you permission to pick up their commodities,” officials said. “You may pick up for only one other person.”
The monthly income guidelines to qualify are:
• $1,307 for an individual.
• $1,760 for a family of two.
• $2,213 for a family of three.
• $ 2,665 for a family of four.
• $3,118 for a family of five.
• $3,571 for a family of six.
• $4,024 for a family of seven.
• $4,477 for a family of eight.
To figure the amounts for larger families, add $453 for each additional person. These guidelines are effective through June. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)funds the program.
