Authorities are searching for a 24-year-old man suspected in the May 8 shooting death of a Wisconsin man at a Conway hotel.
Conway Police Department spokesman LaTresha Woodruff said authorities are actively searching for 24-year-old Zachary Keesee on suspicion of capital murder.
Police have made one arrest in connection to this case — Sherri Keesee, the suspect's mother.
"Your Conway Police Department has made an arrest in connection with the shooting death of 48-year-old Leonel Panduro," she said late Monday night. "Panduro was found dead in a room at the Days Inn on May 8, 2018. Fifty-year-old Sherri Keesee of Maumelle faces a charge of hindering the apprehension of her son, 24-year-old Zachary Keesee, who is a capital murder suspect in this case."
Online records show Sherri was booked in the county jail on one count of hindering apprehension or prosecution at 5:58 p.m. Monday. Details as to whether Sherri allegedly withheld evidence or information regarding her son's whereabouts has not been released at this time.
Woodruff said police continue actively searching for Zachary and that more arrests could likely follow.
"Detectives are currently working to track Zachary down," she said. "The case is being vigorously investigated and several more arrests are expected."
Panduro, of Whitewater, Wisconsin, was found shot to death in room 106 at the Days Inn hotel on Oak Street, marking the second slaying reported at the Conway hotel in about two years.
Authorities were alerted of the shooting around 6 a.m. on the day in question and immediately began inventorying evidence and questioning witnesses.
Woodruff said anyone with information regarding Zachary's whereabouts or on this case is asked to call Conway police immediately.
"If you have information on this case or the whereabouts of Zachary Keese, you are asked to call Detective Andrew Johnson at 501-450-6130," she said.
