From Conway Police Department reports
Authorities find paraphernalia during traffic stop
A 36-year-old Conway woman was jailed following a Thursday traffic stop.
Crystal McRae, who was cited for allegedly driving on a suspended license, was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia for meth or cocaine and possession of marijuana after authorities reportedly found "a clear jar with suspected marijuana" and two syringes "loaded with a clear and brown substance" in her vehicle during a traffic stop.
A Conway officer was patrolling Harkrider Street around 2:30 p.m. Thursday when he noticed the driver of a maroon Honda Accord "quickly ducked in an attempt to conceal her face" as she drove past the officer.
"Feeling that this was suspicious behavior, I decided to run the license plate," the officer wrote in his report, noting he learned the woman showed to have a suspended license plate. After catching back up to the woman, the officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Amity Road and Dave Ward Drive.
McRae said she knew she was pulled over because she was driving while her license was suspended but that "she was just going to the pawn shop for her vehicle." As the 36-year-old spoke with the officer, he noted she seemed increasingly nervous.
"I noticed that her hands were violently shaking and that she appeared to be close to tears as she kept wiping at her eyes," the incident report reads in part.
Because the woman had an active search waiver on file, the officer asked to search McRae as well as her vehicle. During the search, authorities located "a clear jar with suspected marijuana in a black bag on top of the passenger seat" as well as "a small, multi-colored bag directly under the driver's seat" that had suspected methamphetamine in it. According to the incident report, McRae admitted the syringes inside the multi-colored bag were loaded with meth but said they were not hers.
"I asked her if she knew what the substance was and she stated that she knew it to be methamphetamine," the officer wrote in his report. "I asked her if the needles and meth were hers and she denied responsibility or knowledge of the substance. She made the same claims about the suspected marijuana."
McRae was arrested on site and taken to the county jail following the incident.
LR woman threatens Conway woman with bat
Authorities responded out to a residence on Willow Street after a woman was reportedly threatened with a bat on her doorstep.
The 23-year-old complainant told police that Tyreka Coleman came to her home shortly after noon on Thursday and began threatening her, noting this was not the first time Coleman has allegedly harassed her.
On the day in question, the victim "said she heard someone knocking on the door, [and that] when she opened the door, Coleman swung the bat trying to hit her," according to an incident report.
The complainant told authorities that her 2-year-old daughter was also present when Coleman, 20, of Little Rock allegedly tried to attack her.

The 59-year-old man told police he suspects the damage occurred sometime between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.
According to his statement, his silver 2013 Ford pickup truck "was fine the day before and not it is covered in scratches" and all four of his tires have been slashed.
