The Conway Planning Commission will have public hearings for three proposed rezonings and two proposed conditional-use permits during its regular meeting at 7 p.m. July 16 at the Judge "Jack" Roberts District Court Building.
Property at 2010 Salem Road will be considered for rezoning from A-1 to RU-1 (restricted use 1) and for a conditional-use permit.
"[RU-1] basically only allows office use," Planning Director Bryan Patrick said. "They are also requesting a conditional use permit that includes contractor facility and restricted retail."
The property is currently being used by AT&T as a service yard but they plan to vacate in the next couple of years, he said.
"A computer service/networking firm wants to use the property," he said, which explains the requests. "The restricted retail use may need to be reined in as part of the permit. Restricted retail allows a restaurant, but no drive through. At this time, I don’t believe there are any plans to construct or use the property for retail activities," except possibly computer sales.
Other rezoning requests include property at 2740 Dave Ward Dr. from RHM to C-3 and property at 1904 Washington Ave. from R2-A to O-3.
The other conditional-use permit request is "to allow mini-warehouse in RU-1 zoning district for property located at 1550 E. Dave Ward Dr.," according to the agenda.
The commission will also hear updates from the subdivision committee regarding preliminary plat requests for the Station House addition, the Freyaldenhoven Subdivision and Haven House.
"Haven House is platting the property for their new residential facility. They have also submitted plans for the residential facility," Patrick said. "The property was previously unplatted. Any new commercial construction requires for previously unplatted property to be drawn up and submitted for plat review."
The meeting is open to the public.
