Pro Auto will sponsor a Spirit Ride from 8-11 a.m. Sept. 21 in the Antioch Baptist Church parking lot to help raise awareness of laws put in place for the safety of first responders.

The event is free and open to the public.

“We will be inviting other tow operators as well as local police, fire departments, sheriff’s offices, EMTs and other first responders to help raise awareness of and support for Slow Down, Move Over laws as well as general safety procedures for folks when they encounter a traffic accident or see a first responder on the side of the road,” Communication Director Taylor Weston said. “All of the first response vehicles will be arranged for public viewing, and there will be a ceremony including music and addresses from representatives of the Spirit Ride and other local leaders.”

Spirit Ride is a nationally touring event whose mission is to “promote public awareness of the Move Over laws while honoring fallen first responders killed on the roadside,” according to its website.
