Sam Higdon announced he will seek a third term as Guy mayor.

“I have lived in Guy since 1986, and have served as mayor of Guy for 10 years,” he said. “I will continue to serve our great city as best I can and be available to its citizens.”

Higdon said Guy has improved during his tenure.

“I am proud that during my administration, we have accomplished many things,” he said. “We have built a city park, maintenance building, installed weather sirens, and are in the process of renovating a local historical building to house a library and community center. I hope to accomplish much more when re-elected.”

“I am married to the love of my life, Jan Higdon and have been for going 20 years,” he said. “Together we share five children, many grandchildren. and even a few great-grandchildren.”

If re-elected, he said he “will keep the city streets in repair, strive toward finishing the library/community center and continue to move forward as a city.”
