Today’s column begins with answers to the top questions: Discount Tire is building a location at the entrance of Lewis Crossing across from Red Robin’s. A Steak ‘n Shake is under construction on Dave Ward Drive on the east side of the Plazza at Centerstone shopping center.

Your Pie, a pizza franchise started in the is planning a new location at 2405 Dave Ward Drive next to New Hope Prosthetics and Supercuts in The Shoppes at Centerstone. Drew French started this franchise in Athens, Georgia in 2008 after visiting his wife’s family in Ischia, a small volcanic island off the coast of Naples, Italy. The hand-tossed wood-fired pizzas are personalized.

Walgreen’s has purchased the prescription files and inventory of all the Fred’s Pharmacy locations in Faulkner County except Vilonia. The stores will stay open, but the pharmacies will be closing in the next couple of weeks. The prescriptions will now be filled at Walgreen’s unless the customer chooses to transfer their prescriptions elsewhere. Patients need to request changes before the stores close or their prescriptions will automatically go to Walgreen’s to be filled.

A new pharmacy is under construction in the former HomeBank of Arkansas location, 61A South Broadview next to the gas station. It has been said that it is a third location for the owner/operators of the Amity Road Pharmacy in Conway and Vilonia Family Pharmacy.

John Daly Steakhouse, 912 Front is listed for sale or lease with Newmark Moses Tucker Partners. The lease price is $22 SF/yr. while the sale price is subject to offer. Sam McFadin, the former CEO of the restaurant filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September.

King Air FBC LLC, led by John Burkhalter, purchased nearly 10.4 acres at the northeast corner of Ingram and Bruce Street from Conway Development Corporation for almost $1.4 million. This is part of the planned 18.7-acre, 339-unit Fontaine Bleau luxury apartment complex. Site work has already started.

Conway Towne Centre, the 274,596-square-foot retail center was recently purchased by Conway Realty LLC and Conway Nassim LLC for $12 million. CapRocq, the seller, bought most of the center in 2009 for $9.5 million and then purchased the Office Depot space for $3.25 million in 2013. This transaction did not include the Cinemark Towne Center movie theater which sold this past March for $7.4 million.

Horse Power Equine Rehab and Fitness, 3725 College, had its grand opening October 6. This new equine veterinary clinic replaces Back Achers Ranch and Legends Restaurant. It provides many therapy tools for horses including a horse gym, water treadmill, cold salt water spa, breathing machine, light therapy, etc.

Vesta’s, 1101 Oak, announced that they are closing their Conway location. The closeout sale started this last week. The main store is located at 11525 Cantrell Road in Little Rock.

Hank’s Fine Furniture and More, 800 Museum Road, reopened October 22 in its newly remodeled store. Furniture Row also underwent a remodel this summer. Both carry the newest trends in home décor.

Finally, my favorite local newspaper will be moving to a new home on north Front Street at the end of the month. The Log Cabin Democrat offices will be moving into two of the three retail spaces in the new Covington building that was completed this summer.

The City of Conway purchased Federal Plaza for the new City Hall, requiring the newspaper office to be relocated since state law does not allow municipalities to rent space to non-government entities. The post office, however, will remain in its current location.
