This year on Giving Tuesday (Nov. 27), several Conway agencies are coming together to host Conway Gives on Giving Tuesday. The Arkansas Community Foundation of Faulkner County along with Bethlehem House, CAPCA, COHO, the Conway Ministry Center, the Salvation Army, Y107 and UCADowntown are working together to help the homeless. This is the first time all of these agencies have come together to raise support for a common cause.

Conway Gives was developed out of many roundtable discussions among some of the nonprofits and the desire to eliminate competition with each other for donor dollars.  They all work together every day and were looking for ways that supporters could donate to a cause without having to choose between the nonprofits.

Volunteers from these agencies along with local churches, businesses and civic groups will saturate downtown Conway on Giving Tuesday to help collect donations. Looks for volunteers on the street corners holding #CONWAYGIVES signs and donations buckets.

UCA Downtown, located at 1105 W Oak St., will be the headquarters for Conway Gives on Giving Tuesday and will be the location where volunteers check in. There will also be a donation station located inside.

Conway Gives has a goal of $10,000, and all of the proceeds will be divided equally between the Conway Ministry Center, Bethlehem House, CAPCA, COHO and the Salvation Army. All of these nonprofits offer services specifically for the homeless community.

The Arkansas Community Foundation of Faulkner County is providing the on-line giving platform and has given a Venture Task Force grant of $500 to help launch Conway Gives.

Here are ways community members can help:

* Sign up to volunteer. The agencies need volunteers to help collect donations at Toad Suck Square and the corners of Oak and Harkrider streets from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Go to to sign up for a one hour time slot.

* Make a donation. Donate online at or drive through downtown Conway (Oak St.) and give without getting out of the car. Volunteers will be located on the corners of Toad Suck Square and also at the corner of Oak and Harkrider streets (by Walgreen & CVS). They will be holding #CONWAYGIVES signs and will be ready to receive your donations or you can stop by UCA Downtown.
