The Vilonia Board of Education will meet for its regular meeting at 6 p.m. Jan. 14.

At the beginning of the meeting, board members are set to consider several agenda items including board minutes from the December meeting and the financial statement for December 2018.

After, superintendent David Stephens, per the agenda, will introduce Vilonia Mayor Preston Scroggin to the board.

This school year, the district has also been looking at many security enhances for its campuses.

During the meeting, Stephens will give the board an update on those options and considerations.

At this time of year, many districts across the state are also working through the 2019-20 academic school calendar.

The board will consider the district calendar as well as the fiscal year 2021 proposed budget for expenditures during this meeting.

Several student transfers, five students to leave the district and one to enter from Conway Public Schools.

The Vilonia Board of Education consists of president Kent Charles, vice president Gina McNew, secretary Brian Lane, primary disbursement officer Matt Reynolds, alternate disbursement officer Steve Austin, Tim Nolan and Mark Samuelson.
