The Conway Police Department has reached out to the public for help in identifying a man suspected in an attempted armed robbery case.

CPD spokesman LaTresha Woodruff confirmed no one was injured during the incident.

"No one was hurt," Woodruff told the Log Cabin. "The suspect walked up to the car while the driver was at the ATM and pulled out a handgun [and] the driver drove away."

Bank of the Ozarks surveillance footage released Friday afternoon shows the suspect run toward a vehicle parked at the ATM while pulling out a handgun around 9:10 p.m. March 9.

The suspect is a black man with long dreadlocks and is believed to be in his mid to late 20s, authorities said.

Woodruff said the police department encourages residents to view the surveillance footage in hopes that someone is able to help police ID the man who attempted to rob a motorist at gunpoint last week.

"Take a look at the video," Woodruff said. "[W]e realize the video is not pristine quality but perhaps you recognize his build or mannerisms."

In the video, the suspect walks around the bank, located at the corner of Fountain Drive and Salem Road, and runs toward a white, four-door sedan parked at the ATM as he pulls out a handgun. The victim drove off quickly as the suspect apparently tries to grab at the driver. As the driver of the white vehicle flees, the suspect is seen chasing after the car.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to call detective Sarah Ault.

Woodruff said authorities encourage anyone who thinks they may know the man or has any information regarding the case should call Ault immediately at 501-450-6130.

Tipsters can also remain anonymous by texting CRIMES (274-637) using the keyword "Conway" in the message.

"Thanks in advance for your help," Woodruff said.
