One lane of the Highway 60 bridge across Toad Suck Lock and Dam will be closed through the end of June, officials said.

Weather permitting, crews will be performing maintenance on the bridge from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“During the Memorial Weekend holiday, May 24-27, both lanes will be open to traffic,” officials at the Army Corps of Engineers said in a news release.

Officials said they are asking for the public’s cooperation until the work is complete. They expect to reopen both lanes in July.

“The closure is being coordinated with emergency services and law enforcement agencies. Corps officials ask travelers to plan alternate routes and allow extra time to reach their destinations,” the release stated.
