The Community Action Program for Central Arkansas (CAPCA) is less than two weeks away from opening its summer Student Market and is seeking volunteers and donations.

“You can help empower some amazing kids this summer,” CAPCA officials said.

Volunteers must complete a volunteer packet prior to serving. Packets are available at the CAPCA office, 707 Robins St. in Conway, or by emailing Melissa Allen at melissa.allen@capcainc.org.

There are a variety of snacks, including pudding, apple sauce, protein packs and more, on the group’s Amazon wish list at https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2G4RI6PSTE3YW?&sort=default&fbclid=IwAR2OBtArNd_AbtrYCZ39KH5kZBTTwKmO4KKaGw-4_vPep0AlGgCWurMeaew.

“You can purchase from this list or use it as a guide to the type of items would like to have available for the students,” officials said, adding that donations can be dropped off at the CAPCA office Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to noon or 1-5 p.m.

Conway Corporation got the group off to a winning start by creating a sign for its Student Market, holding a food drive to help fill the pantry, volunteering and building a fruit stand.

“We are beyond thankful for their generosity,” officials said.

People can also donate funds.

“Donations may be mailed or dropped off at 707 Robins St. Suite 118, Conway, AR 72034. Please note on the donation that it is for the Student Pantry,” officials said. “We can use these funds to purchase items at a deeply discounted rate from the Arkansas Food Bank. We will stretch your dollars to make a huge impact. All funds donated will be used to purchase food or hygiene products for the students we serve.”
