Hope Cares partnered with the Faulkner County Library to feed children in need over the summer.

Beginning June 17, children aged 18 and under can come to the Faulkner County Library and eat free lunch while supplies last from noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The program will run through July 26.

“This is a vitally needed program,” John McGraw, director of the Faulkner/Van Buren County Regional Library System said. “We are extremely grateful to our friends at Hope Cares for this program. I hope the community will support Hope Cares with volunteer hours and whatever they need.”

Hope Cares is a part of New Hope Baptist Church, which has campuses in North Little Rock and at 232 Watkins St. in Conway.

Pastor George L. Parks said the program could use volunteers.

“The main thing we need is volunteers,” he said. “People to help with sorting, stocking an d delivering.”

He said this is the first year Hope Cares is doing the program at the library and he’s proud to partner with them.

“We’re excited about it,” he said.

Anyone who wants to volunteer can contact the site supervisor Jacqueline Moncrease at 501-358-6611.
